About the conference

The 7th Forum Carpaticum conference Carpathian Futures – Critical Transitions brings together scientists, practitioners and stakeholders to share recent research and discuss the challenges and possible modes of adaptation to ongoing environmental, economic and socio-political crises in the Carpathian region. The interdisciplinary and transdiscipilinary meeting will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences on sustainable and pro-environmental solutions in use in the management of the Carpathians and other mountain regions. A networking side event will provide a platform for exploring collaborative opportunities among scientists and stakeholders from across the region.

Contributions are welcome on a range of topics related to the themes of the Science for the Carpathians Research Agenda 2020-2030, including presentations of practical examples and case studies of ongoing and completed projects implemented in the Carpathians. The Conference will include academic sessions in various formats, discussion panels, workshops, plenary lectures and social events. A separate session focused on Ukraine will be held in hybrid format.
